For 75 years Shedrain and three generations of the Blauer family have been actively involved in community and charities in the Portland area. In 2021 we expanded our efforts to make a bigger impact in the communities where we work and our consumers live.
“We grew up here. We love Portland. We’ve always valued being part of this community. During this crisis, being able to make a difference right here in our own backyard? It’s humbling,” says Doug Blauer, ShedRain Chief Social Impact Officer. “We see giving back as a sacred civic duty. We want to help our fellow brothers and sisters, folks who are struggling. And if these masks can help protect Portlanders, that feels like the right thing to do.”
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, CCC has relied on personal protective equipment donations from the community to protect our frontline staff – as well as our residents, patients and clients. We’re thrilled that this generous donation has enabled CCC to “pay it forward” to our network of social services agencies and partner organizations, strengthening our collective response to growing need in our community.
ShedRain is an industry leader in umbrellas and rainwear, and a third-generation family business. In 2020, the company expanded their product line to include masks for frontline health workers, with the goal of serving organizations working with the most vulnerable in our community.
The event included special appearances by recording artists China Forbes and Edna Vazquez
