This Jumbo Compact features the windproof technology of Vortex, with a vented canopy and sturdy steel frame outfitted with our patented Cable Enforced Technology®. It's designed and wind tunnel-tested to resist winds up to 75 mph without flipping inside-out. Thanks to the roomy 54-inch arc, it offers protection for two, yet still closes down to just 15 inches. It also comes with UPF 15 UV protection, making it a great option for both sun and rain. For big coverage in a small package, it's the perfect dual-purpose umbrella.

Best umbrella I have found

It’s nice when things last. The last umbrella I had from ShedRain lasted 17 years (albeit the button stopped working 5 years ago). This new one is working well and it feels good to invest in something with substance. Compared to the cheap umbrellas at drug stores, this umbrella seems like it will last.

Compact, yet a giant

I purchased this compact size umbrella for my wife along with another for me, referenced at end of this review. I was amazed when I opened this compact umbrella. Little did I know when I opened it, that the arc size on this was as described, "JUMBO" size. The steel frame with the cable enforced technology is amazingly strong. I can see why it is rated to withstand wind speeds up to 75 mph. The rubber grip feels great and provides for a firm hold. In fact, I find it a bit heavier than my umbrella, the "Stratus Collection 50" Arc Manual Stick Umbrella, style #7400174001". My spouse and I both admire this umbrella, but it belongs to her. She always keeps it in her vehicle.
